I should be writing my creative writing paper right now instead of posting another um post? I know Shaina is going to get on me for doing this buuuuut, Im writng a paper about my experiences with family so I thought I would post a few pictures of my families that aren't exactly your traditional family.
The college group is more a family to me than I think most of them will know, they're everything I look for in family. Each person brings something different and together its an amazing group that has a closeness I think is rare. I feel safe and loved and accepted with them, we can laugh for hours and just goof around bowling in crazy outifts but we can also have awesome conversations about the Lord for hours. I don't know where I would be without them.
Part of what is so amazing about the college group is the awesome leadership of Bob and Charlene Harrell. They open up there home to us whenever we need them really. I have spent the night on the couch when I was having a rough time at home, I been fed countless dinners, lunches and even breakfast, I know I will always find a hug, loving advice, and some salsa thats a little to spice for me when I open the door at the Harrell house.
What can I say about the junior high group? You know how when you have a bad day, or your feeling sick and all you want to do is go home, well all I want to do is be with these guys. I basically have to be throwing up or running a 102 degree fever to miss wednesday nights. I love them all so much, I really don't know any one who can put a smile on your face faster than these kids. Their love for the Lord and thirst for more amazes me and being with them is being home.
The Pardues are amazing, period. They put up with this 20 year old who eats all there food and never remembers to put her initials on her water bottle :) It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside everytime I get to sit down for dinner with them. Shania has been an amazing loving friend who understands not only my wierd expressions but who I really am and she listens really really well. She has challenged and encouraged me in my walk with the Lord, and for that I am so gratefull. I love each of the kids so much, maybe most college kids don't think hanging out with a 2, 6, 12, and 14 year old is a fun way to spend a saturday night, but I think they're missing out :)

My best friend is Kendra. To some people the phrase "best friend" is silly or juvenille, I wish people understood what it means to be. Proversbs 18:24 says "There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." Kendra is that friend, I am constantly reminded that what we have is rare, special, and not something to take for granted. She has been my friend since we were 7 years old, she knows the ins and outs of my life, where I've been and where I am now. She has been my family for years and I pray everyday it will stay that way.
God blesses us with family in a million different ways and for someone who seeks family the way I do, I count it one of the greatest blessings.
Sorry that was so long guys.
